UON 67TH GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Senate during its special meeting approved, in accordance with Statute XXVIII that the 67th Graduation should be held on 23rd September, 2022. This is there for to urge all the graduands set to graduate in the 67th UoN graduation ceremony to ensure they timely meet all the prerequisites.

Annual UoN Open Day

The University of Nairobi will hold its annual Open Day on Thursday and Friday, May 5-6, 2022. The Open day theme is, 'Innovation for Transformation and Impact to Society' 

 

The Open Day 2022 will be a blended event. The Opening Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 5 2022 from 10:00 am

Senate Approves Revised Syllabus for BSc. Petroleum Engineering

The senate has approved the revised syllabus for BSc in Petroleum Engineering programme. The approval was done on 30th March 2022.

The syllabus was reviewed to reflect technological advances in the field of Petroleum Engineering. This will ensure students taken through the programme have a good grounding in Petroleum Engineering fundamentals and have an understanding of new and emerging technologies in the field.

The Department Organizes a Training on Laser Materials Processing of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Alloys

The Department offered a 3-day short course in Laser Materials Processing from 11 th to 15 th March
2022. The training focused on Laser cutting, laser beam welding and laser surface modification of
ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The training was facilitated by Professor Abdel-Monem El-Batahgy of
Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI), Egypt. The Arab Fund for
Technical Assistance to African Countries (AFTAAC) supported Professor El-Batahgy’s trip to Kenya
